Bio

Sharon Barrett has been an ELT/ESL teacher for more than 25 years in Turkey teaching all ages and levels, as well as a focus on learning difficulties. She has a strong background in international programmes such as the General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) and has worked as a freelance teacher trainer since 2014. She is now a full-time educational consultant and teacher trainer for MyElt/Cambridge University Press. Sharon’s main interest is promoting active learning in classrooms to aid development of the essential 21 st century skills and instill the desire for lifelong learning in students.

Remote Learning: Getting students involved!

Trying to motivate students to actively participate is challenging at the best of times. Needless to say, it has become ever more challenging during remote lessons despite their desire to always be connected. However, making a few small changes can really change the dynamics of your online lessons making it fun and engaging for all. In this plenary session, we will explore different tools, methods and ideas to enhance your lessons and keep your students actively involved and on their toes for what is coming next.
