Emrah Kocabuğa completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in English Language Teaching at European University of Lefke. Following his graduation, he obtained a TESOL certificate from the University of Sussex and commenced his career as an instructor at European University of Lefke, English Preparatory School. Over the years, he held various roles including Academic Skills Coordinator, Test Center Supervisor, and a member of University Curriculum Development Unit. He also served as the Deputy Manager of School of Foreign Languages. Emrah Kocabuğa also served as a faculty member in the English Language Teaching Department at European University of Lefke. In 2013, he embarked on a new journey as the Anatolian Region Coordinator at Oxford University Press.
Emrah Kocabuğa further enhanced his expertise by obtaining teacher trainer certifications from Oxford University, Nile, and International House. Presently, he holds the position of Turkey Sales and Marketing Manager at TEAS Publishing, the distributor of Cambridge University Press, showcasing his leadership and proficiency in the field of education.
Abstract: “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Educators”
The session aims to empower educators with the knowledge and tools necessary to integrate the United Nations’; 17 Sustainable Development Goals into their classrooms. This session will provide a comprehensive understanding of the SDGs, focusing on their relevance to both global and local challenges. Participants will explore how the goals connect to core educational values, such as environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic
resilience. The workshop will begin with an overview of the SDGs, covering topics such as poverty eradication, quality education, climate action, and responsible consumption. Interactive
presentations will break down each goal, emphasizing its implications for future generations
and the planet. Educators will learn to relate the goals to their curricula and explore strategies to promote awareness, encourage critical thinking, and inspire action among students.
