Biodata
Berna Aslan is known to be a dreamer, curious learner, maker and a gamer. She studied American Culture and Literature at university. She received her CELTA, CELTA-Young Learner Extension (CELT-YL) and did her M.A in Curriculum and Instructional Programs at Yıldız Technical University. She completed the Educational Technology Specialist certification programme. She is also an Apple Professional Learning Specialist, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert and Google Certified Educator. She is also a teacher trainer and works with NGOs. Her teaching and research interests include educational technology, material development, gamification, growth mindset, critical, creative and reflective thinking skills and problem-solving skills.

This workshop focuses on how to encourage students’ creative and critical thinking skills because I believe that students need to develop capability in critical and creative thinking in the 21st century as they live in a world of constant change. Therefore, we, as teachers, must empower our students to become independent and innovative learners, problem solvers, critical and creative thinkers to tackle the novel challenges they will face in the future.
In this workshop, you will find some tips that you can incorporate to encourage your students to think creatively. We will practice many activities that involve searching for meaningful new connections by generating many unusual ideas, identifying and analysing problems, developing solutions, thinking outside the box, and using imagination.
P.S.: All the activities are tested, approved and improved by students.
